John's personal encounter with depression, his 31-year marriage to his wonderful (and extremely understanding) wife, and their strong ties to faith and the community motivated him to pursue an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy at Campbellsville University. During his studies, he gained expertise in the Gottman and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy approaches, in addition to being certified in telehealth and self-harm/suicide prevention.
